Most medical
care -- including physicians' services, prescriptions,
surgical procedures and hospitalization -- is provided
free to employees and their eligible dependents. Saudi
Aramco families living in the Eastern Province of Saudi
Arabia, where the company is headquartered, are treated
at hospitals and clinics owned and operated by the company.
These are large, modern, full-service facilities annually
providing care for thousands of employees and their dependents
as well as retired Saudi employees and their spouses. Other
employees living in Saudi Arabia outside the Eastern Province
receive care at company-designated hospitals and clinics.
An employee or dependent with an especially complicated
ailment may be transferred at company expense to a specialized
treatment facility in-Kingdom or overseas. There are some
exceptions to the no-cost rule. For example, employees
and their dependents in the Eastern Province pay a discounted/subsidized
fee for dental care at company clinics.
