SCHOOLS

We operate our own school system for the children of our employees on family status. Most of our teachers are American, more than half hold Master's degrees and some have earned Doctorates. As a matter of fact, when the performance of our children has been compared to their counterparts, they're generally ranked in the top ten percent.

AMERICAN CURRICULUM

Our schools follow an American-style curriculum, designed to develop your child intellectually, creatively, emotionally, socially and physically. Schools start at the kindergarten level and continue through the ninth grade. Classes are small and encourage individual attention. Teaching aids and materials are up to date, and our facilities are modern, attractive and fully air-conditioned.

Employees from locations other than the US and Canada have additional schooling options to suit their child's home country curriculum. For example, many European employees choose to send their children to the British Grammar School located a short distance from the Saudi Aramco community in Dhahran. This international school provides education from Pre-Reception through to Year 11. There are also French and Indian schools close by.

The school program incorporates the requirements of the UK National Curriculum. The Company pays 100% of costs and provides transportation to Dhahran High School for children. There are also other international schooling options available.

ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Our communities are relatively small and children can sometimes even walk to school. For those not within walking distance, the company provides a comfortable, air-conditioned bus service.

Many people are surprised at the extensive athletic facilities - often better than you would find in the schools back home - with air-conditioned gymnasiums, full-size athletic fields, swimming pools and tennis courts. Students can also enjoy a variety of musical and dramatic productions.

Our schools operate on a trimester system. Each three-month school session is followed by a four-to six-week break when students can take a wide variety of enrichment programs and special tutoring sessions – or travel.
